Checking your tyre tread levels
The legal tyre tread depth for cars in the UK is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre.
You can check yours with a gauge device or by placing a 20p coin into the lowest tread.
If you can’t see the outer rim of the coin, it meets minimum standards.
If you can see the rim, your tyre should be checked by Roade Main Garage immediately.

How to check your tyre pressure?
To check your tyre pressure, remove the screw caps from the tyre valve and press a tyre pressure gauge onto the end of it.
If it shows poor pressure, add some air until it is at the recommended level for your vehicle. If it’s too high, let the air out of your tyre until it falls within the recommended level.
